We turn our heads away

Something’s always wrong

Be it whatever it is we say

Or ‘cause emotions are just too strong

With every fight, it’s fading

And words cannot suffice

Every memory of pain is lasting

Mistakes would have to pay their price

One day we’d look back and realize

That all there is, we’ve lost

But the greater pain hails from the fact that

Indifference to this is ultimately what our fighting brought

I look into your eyes but cannot see

Nor can I understand

How I didn’t realize all this while

That we’ve been sieving through sand
